Celebrating Awareness, Remembrance, and Community

October was a month of heart and reflection at NB+C, as our two Employee Resource Groups: WISE (Women Inspiring Success and Empowerment) and POC-UIC (People of Change United in Color), led inspiring initiatives centered around care, culture, and connection.

Think Pink: Raising Awareness, Honoring Loved Ones
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, WISE hosted our third annual Think Pink campaign across all offices. The day featured pink-themed décor, educational videos, and the beloved Honor Wall, where employees shared names and messages for loved ones affected by breast cancer. Pink treats and ribbons added a touch of brightness to an important cause, while the rolling video series provided practical insights into prevention, early detection, and support.

Day of the Dead: Honoring Cultures and Connections
Later in the month, the POC-UIC ERG, together with the Human Capital team, transformed our offices into a vibrant celebration of Halloween and the Day of the Dead. The event invited employees to explore how different cultures around the world remember and honor their ancestors and loved ones who have passed. A short video presentation showcased global traditions of remembrance, from Mexico’s Día de los Muertos to Japan’s Obon and beyond. The gathering blended festivity and reflection, reminding us that remembrance is both a shared human experience and a celebration of life’s enduring impact.

Together, these ERG-led initiatives reflect NB+C’s commitment to fostering a workplace that values education, empathy, and cultural appreciation; one conversation, celebration, and shared story at a time.
