Corporate Office Volunteers with the Maryland Food Bank

Baltimore, MD: NB+C employees based out of the corporate headquarters volunteered at the Maryland Food Bank on Monday, September 11 and Monday, September 18.

The office selected The Maryland Food Bank as its 2017 Charity of Choice and the team was thrilled to be able to make an impact during the volunteer shifts.

Employees sorted and packed boxes of food donations to be distributed to the Food Bank’s various partners, including soup kitchens, school pantries and homeless shelters.  During the course of their two shifts, NB+C employees sorted over 43,000 pounds of food representing 41,879 meals distributed to those in need!

“In a time where our need is at an all-time high, volunteer sessions are critical to our organization,” said Nancy Smith, Senior Director of Government Relations and Principal Gifts at MD Food Bank. “The upcoming holiday season is starting NOW and sorting out 41,000 meals is a huge help to us.  It also says something about the company philosophy on giving back and getting the employees involved.  A big thank you to NB+C!”

NB+C has also signed on as a corporate sponsor for the MD Food Bank’s “Pack to Give Back” initiative, which provides Thanksgiving dinner holiday boxes to families who are struggling during the holiday season.
